REACH

TEXT: Luke 4:18

INTRODUCTION

· Our vision is to help people find their God-given destinies.  That’s a really two-fold thing:

a) Helping them find their eternal destiny in heaven, and

b) Helping them find their earthly destiny serving God on the way to heaven.

1) WE ARE SPIRIT-DRIVEN TO (P)REACH

· The Holy Spirit is still saying “go” (or reach) in the heart of every believer.

2) WE ARE ANOINTED TO (P)REACH

· “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.”   1 John 2:20 (NIV)

3) WE HAVE THE GOOD NEWS TO (P)REACH

· “I could not in good conscience tell a friend about a faith that didn’t excite me.”  Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality (Nelson, 2003)

· Jesus is always reaching to the person who has recently discovered their helpless estate.

CONCLUSION

· “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ…”   Col 4:3 (NIV)
