RELEASE
TEXT: Luke 4:18
INTRODUCTION
· “Rejoice with those who rejoice.” Rom. 12:15 (NIV)
1) ACKNOWLEDGE AND CONFRONT OPPRESSION
· There may be nothing more oppressive or debilitating than living a life that never gets a chance to use the gifts God has graciously granted us.
2) PROCLAIM THE LORD’S FAVOR
· Because of Christ’s death on the Cross every year, every month, every week, every minute has the potential for jubilee!
· For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. 2 Cor 6:2 (NIV)
3) RELEASE PEOPLE INTO THE LORD’S FREEDOM
· The word release comes from two Greek words, one meaning “to send out” and the other meaning “freedom”.
CONCLUSION
· “Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own. The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had.” Phil 2:3-5 (TEV)
