RELEASE

TEXT: Luke 4:18

INTRODUCTION

· “Rejoice with those who rejoice.”   Rom. 12:15 (NIV)

1) ACKNOWLEDGE AND CONFRONT OPPRESSION

· There may be nothing more oppressive or debilitating than living a life that never gets a chance to use the gifts God has graciously granted us.

2) PROCLAIM THE LORD’S FAVOR

· Because of Christ’s death on the Cross every year, every month, every week, every minute has the potential for jubilee!

· For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.   2 Cor 6:2 (NIV)

3) RELEASE PEOPLE INTO THE LORD’S FREEDOM

· The word release comes from two Greek words, one meaning “to send out” and the other meaning “freedom”.

CONCLUSION

· “Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves.  And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own.
