THE CONNECTIVITY OF THE BIBLE

TEXT: Hebrews 11:39-40

INTRODUCTION

·       The Bible is a book of promises…made by a Person to many persons.  Therefore, it is a book about relationships or relational connections.

THE BIBLE IS OUR CONNECTION TO:

1)     GOD THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT

·       So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.   Rom 10:17 (NKJ)

·       The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word.   1 Sam 3:21 (NIV)

·       Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.   Matt 22:29 (NIV)

2)     PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE HEROES

·       If you want to know the full extent of your genealogy and learn from your complete family history read the Bible.

3)     PEOPLE WHO HAVE LESSONS TO TEACH US

·       These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.   1 Cor 10:11 (NIV)

·       For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.   Rom. 15:4 (NIV)

CONCLUSION

·       But about the resurrection of the dead-- have you not read what God said to you,   'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."   Matt 22:31-32 (NIV)
