SHOW HIM THE MONEY

TEXT: Mal. 3:1-10

INTRODUCTION

· Giving is an act of faith.  When it stops being that it not only loses its savor but its

power.

1) THE TITHE BELONGS TO GOD

· A very common misconception in churches today is the idea that tithing means the same

as giving.  The word “tithe” means “tenth”.  And we’re told to bring it not give it because

it doesn’t belong to us.

2) TITHING

· Verse 10 says, “Test me.”  The Hebrew word was used generally to refer to the

testing of metals.  But figuratively it implied an investigation. 

3) TITHING

· Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your

barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

                         Prov 3:9-10 (NIV)
